CLARA'S NOTE
In the summer of 2016, I interned at sketch: the most-instagrammed in central London. My job was to revise and rewrite their online content based on my experiences in each of their dining rooms. They're still in the process of updating their website, so you can only find the work I did here.

WELCOME TO SKETCH
Like any good recipe, sketch is the delightful combination of unexpected elements. Welcome to the place where high-tea meets the forest, fine dining meets eclectic music, and the innovation of the future meets the elegance of the past. Our dining rooms are the masterpieces of world-renowned artists and designers, and our food is the creation of world-renowned chefs. We are the destination for foodies, art-appreciators, and music lovers alike, making our home in an 18th-century townhouse on Conduit Street in Mayfair, London. Consider this your invitation to join our world of whimsy.
THE GALLERY
Celebrate tradition and transcend convention as you enjoy afternoon tea, dinner, or drinks in The Gallery. The crisp, clean, and mordantly funny artwork of David Shrigley lines the walls, and the monochromatic, dazzling design of India Mahdavi responds in playful contrast. The exhibition continues on your plate: Shrigley’s graphic ceramics work in tandem with the menu created by Pierre Gagnaire. You’re invited to delight in our delicious intersection of humour and elegance.
THE GLADE
Experience déjà vu as you enter into the enchanted forest of your dreams for afternoon tea, comfort food, or evening cocktails. Inspired by Victorian stationary, artists Carolyn Quartermaine and Didier Mahieu designed the découpage woodland that adorns the walls. This, coupled with our 1950s rattan furniture, makes The Glade a magical oasis in the middle of London. Your modern fairy tale begins here.
THE LECTURE ROOM AND LIBRARY
Ascend the stairs and pull back the curtains on sketch’s gastronomic theatre of fine dining. Designer Gahban O’Keeffe has set the stage with the swirling warmth of Indian-inspired opulence and art-deco flair, while the room is crowned with exquisite 18th-century ceilings. French master chef Pierre Gagnaire has crafted a star-studded cast of courses, and critics rave about the extensive wine selection which has received ‘Best Award for Excellence’ by the Wine Spectator and appears on AA Guide’s ‘Best UK Wine List’. Your sensory feast in The Lecture Room & Library is sure to leave you saying ‘encore!’
THE PARLOUR
Lounge amidst the lavish eccentricity designed by our founder Mourad Mazouz and watch The Parlour transform from tea room and restaurant to trendy cocktail bar. Jack of all trades and master of them all, The Parlour offers a menu of breakfast, tea, pastries, comfort food, cocktails, and fine wine. Do mind that from 9pm on, our cocktail bar is members-only.
